NAECO, LLC (North American Electronics Components) , a manufacturing company located in Peachtree City that makes precision parts for industries including aerospace, DoD, medical, railway, power grids, industrial controls, etc., is hiring for a Production Manager/Director. All employees work on a first shift.
Pay is commensurate with experience and health benefits begin the first of the month after start date. We offer 6 health plans through Aetna, of which 3 have a $0 premium cost to the employee for employee only medical coverage for those plans. Dependents can be added for a cost. POSITION SUMMARY: The Production Manager/Director will organize and oversee the daily operations and drive efficiency and excellence within the manufacturing department in accordance with company goals for safety, productivity and quality.
The area of responsibility for this role is wide and thus requires thorough knowledge of various company processes. The ideal candidate must be competent and able to plan many different kinds of operational activities. They must be an excellent leader, be a stickler for processes, efficiency gains and create a target driven organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Manage production processes and planning.
- Oversee production of all parts made to specification, while maintaining quality and within time to produce targets
- Implementation and Management of NAECO’s MRP system (E2)
- Plan and monitor the day-to-day running of business to ensure smooth progress.
- Weekly meetings with the VP to discuss production plans and objectives for the coming week
- Evaluate overall performance by gathering, analyzing and interpreting data and metrics population internal dashboards to drive “Best in Class” behavior
- Manage factory operations to maintain safety, on-time-delivery, cost of quality, asset utilization, production targets, meeting customer demands and profitability targets.
- Liaise with management to make decisions for operational activities and set strategic goals
- Review financial information and adjust operational budgets to promote profitability.
- Evaluate regularly the efficiency of production procedures according to organizational objectives and apply improvements
- Management of staff (direct and indirect)
- Manage relationships/agreements with external partners/vendors
- For areas of your responsibility, ensure that the company runs meets all laws and regulatory requirements.
- Drive environmental, health and safety improvements with a ‘zero incidents’ mentality.
- Lead the Lean efforts within the facility and lead management team in process improvements and cost savings. Responsible for the development of the organization in the understanding and use of Lean tools and ensure that the facility is continually moving toward the continuous improvements and cost saving measures.
- Training plans for all direct staff
- Facilitate problem solving efforts to reduce cycle times and eliminate waste/cost of poor quality, drive efforts to improve process efficiency, establish process flow, and achieve measurable results and breakthrough performance.
- Managing multiple projects in a team-based, dynamic environment. Clearly sets and communicates priorities and targets to others on the team.
- Manages the quality system for their area of responsibility, ensuring we meet all the requirements of our QMS.
- Interact with internal and external customers and suppliers as required
- Develop and implementing Technology and Productivity strategies along with the Engineering Director.
- Ensure that all manufacturing procedures, drawings and documentations are appropriate and followed by all, working alongside the Engineering team.
- A team player who can lead from the front and when required lead with a hands-on approach as required.
- A change manager who can rally the workforce to drive through excellence throughout the organisation
- Proven experience as Production Manager/Production Director or equivalent position
- Proven track record of manufacturing of for mechanical engineering products
- Proven track record in the use of an MRP system
- Excellent organizational and leadership abilities
- Proven track record to work to objectives and targets, delivering result.
- Outstanding communication and people skills
- Proven track record in Management
- A people manager, self-starter with a strong can do attitude
- Knowledge of industry’s legal rules and guidelines
- Working knowledge of performance/operation metrics
- Familiarity with MS Office and various business software
· Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering/Management from an accredited institution or equivalent real-life experience on the job.
· Demonstrated track record with Manufacturing Operations improvement.
Excellent communication at all levels of the company. Six Sigma Green Belt, Black Belt Preferred.
