Position Summary
The Product Quality Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring the integrity of Ergon's products across the supply chain. Serving as a liaison between Sales, Operations, Labs, and Customers, this position leads investigations into quality complaints, manages product audits, and supports quality assurance at both refinery and terminal locations. The role also contributes to technical development initiatives and supports the Ester product portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
•Lead product quality investigations reported by customers, coordinating testing, analysis, and cross-functional communication to resolve issues.
•Manage product quality and blending operations at supply chain terminals, in collaboration with Supply & Distribution and contract labs.
•Conduct routine quality audits of terminals and laboratories; support audit response planning.
•Serve as a liaison for the Sales team and customers, handling requests for compliance data, Certificates of Analysis (COAs), and other quality documentation.
•Support refinery teams in product quality assurance efforts and proactively identify potential technical or customer issues.
•Prepare and analyze quarterly Statistical Quality Control (SQC) charts for review with the technical team.
•Contribute to technical development projects in partnership with Market Technical Engineers.
•Maintain specification documentation, product acceptance criteria, and Product Data Sheets.
•Provide support for the Ester product portfolio.
•Represent the company during customer visits and industry events as needed.
Basic Qualifications
•Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as Chemistry or Engineering.
•Industry experience with a strong technical emphasis related to products and their applications.
•Strong communication and relationship-building skills across internal and external stakeholders.
•Customer-focused mindset with responsiveness and attention to detail.
•Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt in a dynamic environment.
•Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data analysis tools.
Preferred Qualifications
•Previous experience in product quality, laboratory testing, or technical support in a chemical or refining environment.
•Familiarity with COA management, quality auditing, and regulatory compliance.
•Experience supporting specialty products or working within cross-functional technical teams.
•Participation in customer audits or industry technical events.
