Job Summary:
The Quality Engineer is responsible for working with the quality and production teams to determine short-term and long-term solutions to production and process issues. The primary work shall include utilizing standard quality tools and methods to determine root cause and implement solutions.
Responsibilities:
•Work with production and engineering resources to analyze quality issues and deviations and assist in developing corrective and preventive actions.
•Assist in training production staff and new personnel in quality standards and procedures.
•Develop and analyze leading and lagging indicators to determine process adjustments.
•Completes continuous improvement activities of company quality management systems
•Assist in the development, documentation, training, implementation, and system maintenance of an ISO 9001based quality management system.
•Scheduling, management, and facilitation of the internal audit portion of the quality system as directed by the Quality Manager.
•Assist in the coordination of external audits.
•Improvement and maintenance of the quality training system.
•Conduct team-oriented problem-solving activities and perform individual investigation for root cause analysis and problem resolution.
•Coordinate/direct continuous improvement/quality department activities as directed by the Quality Manager.
•Maintain gage calibration program by assuring that all gages are tracked and calibrated at prescribed intervals.
•Prepare reports relating to the performance of the quality system and production departments.
•Maintain a safe working environment by utilizing methods, tools, and equipment that comply with federal regulations and company safety requirements.
•Adhere to and comply with all company policies and procedures.
•Adjust working hours to assist the company in meeting goals and objectives.
•Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
•A B.S. degree in engineering. This requirement may be waived in lieu of equivalent experience as determined by the Vice President of Engineering and/or the Director of Human Resources.
•Experience in quality engineering discipline.
•Experience with measurement systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
•Knowledge of quality tools and processes
•Knowledge of ISO standards
Travel Requirements:
•This position will require travel – less than 15%
•Must be able to travel in United States for training.
Physical Requirements:
•Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
•Ability to travel throughout facility as required to perform essential duties.
