Position Summary:

The Product Owner defines, delivers, and manages the lifecycle of products in a product portfolio. Leads the product team(s) developing the product(s). This position may be involved in the funding management and budgeting processes for the products and / or portfolio.

Responsibilities:

•

Defines and manages product roadmap

•

Build, groom and prioritize the product backlog, continuously managing expectations with relevant stakeholders – including the senior leadership team

•

Manage the sprint planning process and participate in all relevant ceremonies (reviews of prior sprints, grooming, retrospectives, etc.)

•

Develop a deep contextual understanding of our customer, worker and user needs

•

Gather market feedback through user interactions, focus groups, and by performing industry research to support future development

•

Write detailed functional specifications, user stories and product documentation

•

Collaborate with cross-functional teams of developers, designers and analysts to implement and deliver new products and features

•

Collaborate with the organization on vision, strategy, decisioning, tactical execution, and measurement systems

•

Communicate roadmap stages and timelines internally with key stakeholders

Required/Basic Qualifications

•

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Engineering or Other Related Degree

•

In addition to required degree, four (4) or more years related work experience

•

In lieu of Bachelor’s degree(s) AND four (4) or more years related work experience listed above, High School/GED AND eight (8) or more years related work experience

Desired Qualifications

•

Verifiable experience as a liaison between customers and technical delivery teams

•

Experience completing complex technical projects.

•

Expertise in guiding, mentoring, and directing software delivery teams.

•

Experience prioritizing roadmaps, giving consideration to technical capabilities and constraints

•

Facilitating communication among the customer, development team, and product management team

•

Previous experience in a data analytics role and/or project management of a data product

•

Certification in AWS cloud technology

5 or more years working in utility industry

Experience with Jira

Experience with relevant new product or technology development experience working in a fast-paced environment

•

Experience with teams developing and shipping software’’

Working Conditions:

•

Hybrid – Work will be performed from both remote and onsite locations after the onboarding period. However, hybrid employees should live within a reasonable commute to the designated Duke Energy facility.
