Hours of work: Full-time (37.5 hrs/wk) Flexible Work Role: Hybrid
- Performs some or all of the duties of the Product Development Specialist 1 job.
- Develops and implements marketing plans and strategies for moderate to complex new and existing products and
programs by: analyzing and assessing market, product and program data, energy management strategy, brand messaging,
risks, costs and other product and program related factors; determining product and program objectives, targets and
strategies; presenting and recommending product and program plans; developing product and program budgets and
performance monitoring methods for approved product and program development plans and initiatives; monitoring the
launch success for new and existing products and programs; monitoring to ensure promotion and product and program
delivery targets and goals are being achieved; discussing and modifying strategies and tactics with reporting manager,
Product Delivery and other key business unit staff as appropriate.
- Participates in and/or oversees with reporting manager the development and implementation of marketing plans for events
and campaigns to promote new and existing products and programs by analyzing and assessing market, product and
program data, energy management strategy, brand messaging, risks, costs and other product and program factors.
Determining event objectives, targets, strategies, budgets and performance monitoring methods. Assists in the project
management over the planning, implementation and problem solving for events. Reviews and recommends related invoices
for approval and payment.
- Provides ongoing performance measurement for new and existing products and programs b: analyzing expenditures,
brand awareness, messages and other measures for assigned products and programs. Adjusts product and program
marketing strategies as appropriate. Prepares reports, recommends and presents to key business unit staff regarding
product and program participation, promotion performance and/or weaknesses. Discusses and modifies product and
program delivery changes with Product Delivery staff.
- Discusses, analyzes and determines market segmentation data, reports and energy management related information
needs and requirements with key business managers, marketing analysts, representatives and others to provide, enhance
and improve market and customer intelligence to support new and existing products and programs.
- Performs duties of a minor nature related to the above duties, which do not affect the rating of the job.
- Degree in a related field of study such as Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Commerce or in a related
technical field of study such as Electrical, Civil, Power Systems, Electronics/Computer, Mechanical Engineering, Resource
and Environmental Planning; AND four (4) years of experience in a progressively more responsible position involving
product development and management, market research, analysis and complex market dynamics.
OR
- Diploma in a related field of study such as Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Commerce or in a
related technical field of study such as Electrical, Civil, Power Systems, Electronics/Computer, Mechanical Engineering,
Resource and Environmental Planning; AND five (5) years of demonstrated experience in a position involving product
development and management, market research, analysis and complex market dynamics.
