Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Procurement Manager to lead all procurement activities supporting our North America aftermarket operations, including repairs, overhauls, and field services.
This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for driving sourcing strategy, supplier performance, inventory optimization, and cost control while ensuring material availability aligns with operational execution and customer commitments. Responsibilities Procurement Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with operational, financial, and service delivery goals.
- Lead, mentor, and develop buyers and procurement staff, establishing clear priorities, performance metrics, and growth plans.
- Establish and refine procurement policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure compliance, consistency, and scalability.
- Serve as the escalation point for critical supply issues affecting repair schedules and customer commitments.
- Oversee sourcing and purchasing of industrial components including:
- Pump and expander components
- Seals, bearings, motors, fasteners
- Castings and machined parts
- Specialty industrial materials and services
- Review and approve purchase requisitions, supplier selections, and high-value purchase orders.
- Ensure procurement execution aligns with repair schedules, field service requirements, and customer delivery commitments.
- Partner with engineering and operations to support BOM accuracy and technical sourcing decisions.
- Build and maintain a high-performing, reliable supplier base, including qualification of new vendors and strategic partners.
- Lead negotiations covering pricing, lead times, payment terms, and long-term agreements.
- Track and improve supplier performance metrics including on-time delivery, quality, cost, and responsiveness.
- Drive supplier corrective actions and continuous performance improvement initiatives.
- Oversee inventory planning strategies to balance service responsiveness with working capital efficiency.
- Partner with warehouse and operations teams to establish reorder points, safety stock levels, and optimization strategies.
- Support inventory accuracy initiatives including cycle counts, reconciliations, and root cause analysis.
- Ensure materials meet technical, quality, certification, and traceability requirements.
- Lead cost reduction initiatives through strategic sourcing, supplier consolidation, and process improvements.
- Analyze spend data and supplier performance to identify savings and efficiency opportunities.
- Ensure accurate purchasing data and documentation within ERP systems.
- Collaborate with finance on budgeting, forecasting, invoice resolution, and audit support.
- Work closely with repair coordinators, planners, field service leaders, engineering, and finance to align procurement with operational needs.
- Communicate procurement risks and opportunities clearly to leadership.
- Support business growth, new service offerings, and operational scaling initiatives.
Salary: $99,046 - $143,637 annual
Qualifications Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of progressive experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain within an industrial, mechanical, or manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing or mentoring procurement/supply chain personnel.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical components and industrial materials.
- Proven negotiation skills with measurable cost reduction and supplier performance improvement results.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, Epicor, Infor, NetSuite, or similar).
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, BOMs, and mechanical specifications.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work onsite in Huntington Beach, CA.
- Experience supporting rotating equipment, industrial pumps, or cryogenic systems.
- Background in repair, overhaul, or aftermarket service operations.
- APICS/CPIM, CPSM, or similar certification.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related technical field.
- Combination of office and shop environment.
- Frequent cross-department collaboration.
- Occasional exposure to industrial noise and temperature variations.
- Completion of required safety training and use of appropriate PPE as needed.
