Overview
We are seeking a Procurement Specialist to support Strategic Supply Management with a focus on IT software licensing and maintenance renewals. This role will be responsible for reviewing, negotiating, and executing software maintenance agreements while ensuring compliance with internal policies and state guidelines. The position may also provide support to Legal and Cyber Security teams as needed.
- Review upcoming software maintenance expirations, assess business needs, propose renewal terms, and execute new agreements/purchase orders.
- Ensure all contract documents are in compliance with organizational and state procurement requirements.
- Process change orders and prepare purchase orders.
- Post documents to appropriate state contract reporting platforms.
- Attend project meetings (onsite or virtual) as required.
- Maintain accurate and thorough recordkeeping.
- Support the preparation of RFPs, including bid documents, price inquiries, and addendums.
- Identify potential vendors, including MWBE, MBE, and SDVOB suppliers for solicitation.
- Develop required contract documents based on RFP results.
- Strong knowledge and experience working in SAP and Ariba.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Outlook.
- Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks independently.
- Strong analytical skills to extract, interpret, and act on data effectively.
- Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to thrive in a highly regulated, government/utility-type environment.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of state procurement processes preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or a related field, OR minimum of 2 years of military experience in logistics.
- At least 1 year of procurement or related experience with a focus on IT software licensing and maintenance contracts.
