In this role, you’ll take ownership of sourcing and purchasing everything from raw materials to daily operational supplies that keep our production lines moving. You won’t just be placing orders — you’ll be building supplier partnerships, negotiating smarter contracts, and finding cost-saving opportunities that strengthen our bottom line. Working closely with production, inventory, and quality teams, you’ll have a direct impact on efficiency, profitability, and the success of our manufacturing operations.

- Review requisitions and manage purchase orders based on production needs and inventory levels.
- Source and evaluate suppliers for quality, reliability, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery.
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and delivery schedules to maximize value.
- Develop and maintain long-term relationships with suppliers and vendors.
- Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues related to quality, delivery, or cost.
- Participate in supplier evaluations and audits to maintain standards.
- Partner with inventory and production teams to forecast demand and avoid material shortages.
- Maintain optimal stock levels to support continuous operations without delays.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities through bulk buying, alternative sourcing, or contract negotiations.
- Stay ahead of market trends and commodity pricing to inform purchasing strategies.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in supply chain efficiency.
- Support sustainability initiatives by evaluating suppliers on environmental and ethical practices.
- Participate in lean manufacturing or continuous improvement projects to reduce waste and optimize supply chain efficiency.
- Work with engineering and quality teams on new product introductions to source materials and components.
- Collaborate with finance to ensure accurate cost tracking and budget alignment.
- Support maintenance, office, and operations teams in sourcing indirect supplies and services.
- Leverage ERP/MRP systems to improve forecasting accuracy and streamline purchasing workflows.
- Recommend process automation or digital tools to improve procurement efficiency.
- Experience: 5–8 years in purchasing or procurement, ideally within a manufacturing, industrial, or supply chain environment.
- Industry Knowledge: Solid understanding of manufacturing supply chains, raw materials sourcing, and vendor management best practices.
- Systems Expertise: Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar) and strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel for reporting and analysis.
- Negotiation & Communication: Proven ability to negotiate pricing, contracts, and delivery terms while building long-term, productive supplier relationships.
- Analytical Skills: Strong attention to detail with the ability to analyze market trends, evaluate supplier performance, and identify opportunities for cost savings.
- Problem-Solving Mindset: Resourceful and proactive in resolving supply chain challenges to avoid production downtime.
- Team Collaboration: Comfortable working cross-functionally with production, inventory, and quality assurance teams to meet operational goals.
