Procurement Agent

Position Summary

The Procurement Agent is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing materials, equipment, and services necessary to support safe and efficient salt mining and processing operations. This role ensures cost control, supplier reliability, regulatory compliance, and uninterrupted production support across mining, maintenance, and packaging operations.

Key Responsibilities

- Source and purchase mining supplies, maintenance parts, PPE, fuel, packaging materials, and operational consumables

- Develop and maintain relationships with qualified vendors and negotiate pricing, terms, and service agreements

- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with operations to prevent stockouts or production delays

- Ensure purchased materials meet MSHA and regulatory compliance standards

- Track purchase orders, delivery timelines, and invoice reconciliation

- Evaluate supplier performance for quality, reliability, and cost competitiveness

- Identify cost-saving opportunities and strategic sourcing initiatives

- Maintain accurate procurement records within ERP/accounting systems

Qualifications

- 2+ years procurement or supply chain experience (industrial, mining, manufacturing preferred)

- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills

- Working knowledge of mining or industrial safety standards (MSHA familiarity preferred)

- Proficient in ERP/accounting systems and Microsoft Excel

- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
