Process Engineer Direct Hire Cameron, LA
About the Client
The client is a long-term, low-cost provider of American-produced liquefied natural gas. The company’s two Louisiana-based export projects service the global demand for North American natural gas and support the long-term development of clean and reliable North American energy supplies. Using reliable, proven technology in an innovative plant design configuration, their modular, mid-scale plant design will replace traditional designs as it allows for the same efficiency and operational reliability at significantly lower capital cost.
About the Role
We are seeking a Process Engineer to support our client on a permanent basis. This role plays a critical part in bridging detailed process design with day-to-day operational excellence as the facility transitions from EPC delivery into full operations. The Process Engineer will work closely with production and engineering teams to troubleshoot plant issues, optimize performance, and support safe, reliable operations across key LNG systems, including feed gas and pre-treatment, liquefaction and refrigeration, heavy hydrocarbon management, storage, loading, and boil-off gas systems. This position also contributes to the development of Ready for Operations (RFO) schedules, operating and engineering procedures, process monitoring tools, and simulation models, while supporting shutdowns, turnarounds, performance optimization studies, incident investigations, and economic evaluations focused on lifecycle cost, reliability, and availability.
About You
You are a degreed Chemical Engineer with a strong foundation in process design, operations, and troubleshooting within industrial or energy environments. You bring at least five years of hands-on experience in oil and gas or related hydrocarbon processing facilities, ideally with exposure to LNG, cryogenic gas processing, petrochemicals, or NGL operations. You are comfortable applying fundamental engineering principles – fluid flow, heat transfer, thermodynamics, and process chemistry – to real-world plant challenges, and you have experience developing and maintaining process simulations using tools such as HYSYS or Aspen Plus. You communicate clearly with both technical and operations teams, thrive in dynamic plant environments, and can support projects from conceptual design through commissioning, startup, and steady-state operations. A PE or equivalent licensure is preferred, along with familiarity with industry design codes and standards, and the ability to maintain a TWIC card in good standing.
