Role Overview
Mitsubishi Power is seeking a Principal Global Sourcing Specialist for our Savannah, GA location. The Principal Global Sourcing Specialist is responsible for the creation and execution of a strategy for a commodity or group of commodities for the corporation. Establishing a new supply chain to support strategies as required maintaining the commodity usage cycle. This classification reviews a wide range of purchase demand and forecast; maintaining capacity availability levels at strategic suppliers; investigates and develops sources of supplies, provides risk mitigation plans, preparing bid specifications; issues bid requests and reviews quotations. Interprets purchasing procedures to departments and vendors, as a specialist in assigned commodity categories, which require a high degree of technical knowledge.
Key Responsibilities

•Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management
+ Develops procurement strategies and negotiates contracts with suppliers
+ Audits vendors, maintains KPIs, and monitors production capacity
+ Identifies and qualifies new suppliers to meet technical and commercial requirements
+ Conducts supply chain risk assessments and develops mitigation plans
+ Analyzes demand, pricing, and sourcing data to support decision-making
+ Manages complex purchasing transactions in compliance with policies
+ Prepares and evaluates bids, proposals, and technical specifications
+ Establishes and maintains blanket purchase agreements
•Collaboration & Oversight
+ Coordinates with buyers to resolve issues and align with capacity plans
+ Communicates procurement policies and procedures across teams
+ May lead or supervise others; up to 50% travel required
+ Performs additional duties as assigned
Requirements
•Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of buying experience, or 15+ years of experience with a focus on commodity management, or equivalent combinations of education and experience.
•Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to interpret technical documents and present to diverse audiences.
•Analytical & Technical Skills: Proficient in analyzing data, solving problems, and applying basic math, algebra, and geometry concepts.
•Computer Proficiency: Skilled in email, word processing, spreadsheets, and basic databases.
•Leadership: Capable of managing tasks, delegating responsibilities, and guiding sourcing teams effectively.
