Western Midstream is a master limited partnership formed to own, develop, acquire, and operate midstream assets. Job Summary:
Western Midstream is seeking a strategic and analytical Strategic Sourcing Representative to join our dynamic procurement team in The Woodlands, Texas. This role is critical in driving sourcing strategies that reduce total cost of ownership, improve supplier performance, and ensure the timely acquisition of high-quality materials and services.
We are looking for an influential communicator and collaborative partner who thrives in cross-functional and fast paced environments. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of supplier evaluation and selection, category management, negotiations, supplier performance management and cost management, and risk management. This individual will work closely with internal stakeholders to develop sourcing strategies that align with business objectives, enhance supply chain efficiency, and unlock long-term value.
Qualifications:
•Minimum 5 years of experience of strategic sourcing or procurement experience, preferably in oil and gas.
•Demonstrated experience in category management, supplier negotiations, end to end supply chain processes, contract management, and spend analysis.
•Proven ability to build relationships, influence stakeholders, and drive change through data-backed insights and strategic planning
Responsibilities:
•Lead the development and execution of category sourcing strategies that align with corporate goals and deliver measurable cost savings.
•Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather business requirements, perform spend analysis, and translate needs into sourcing plans.
•Manage the end-to-end RFP/RFI process, including bid development, supplier evaluation, scoring, and stakeholder alignment.
•Negotiate commercial terms and finalize service, purchase, and blanket agreements in accordance with procurement policies and legal standards.
•Conduct market analysis and monitor supplier performance to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
•Build and maintain effective supplier relationships to ensure reliability, quality, and risk mitigation.
•Identify and implement process and technology improvements to enhance sourcing efficiency and visibility.
•Promote and uphold Western Midstream’s commitment to safety, ethical sourcing, and supplier diversity.
•Become experts in their respective categories and know it in and out.

Education:
•Bachelor’s degree required in Supply Chain Management, Finance, Business or other related field required preferred. In lieu of degree, equivalent education, training, and experience can be accepted.

•Travel will be required 0-10%.
Work Schedule:
•This position follows a hybrid schedule working in the office Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and working remote Wednesday and Friday. Monday-Thursday are 9 hours and Fridays are 4 hours.
