Enterprise Business Processes is a cross-functional organization that is leading PG&E’s Propel and Elevate programs, two major business and technology modernization programs focused on just that. Propel will migrate PG&E to the new version of SAP, S/4HANA, seizing this unique opportunity for PG&E to standardize business processes, clean the technology core, and enable innovation for breakthrough change across departments. Similarly, Elevate is PG&E’s enterprise-wide program to modernize and standardize the geographic information systems, or GIS, across the company. Through a phased approach, Propel and Elevate will implement process standardization, operating model changes, data improvements, and technology applications with a focus on incrementally improving business capabilities and delivering value.

Enterprise Business Processes is comprised of multi-disciplinary coworkers with deep functional and industry expertise to design and implement end-to-end business process and technology solutions following industry leading practices. The team partners closely with IT and external partners to work collaboratively with many stakeholders to adopt standard processes and maximize use of out-of-the-box proven technology solutions to meet business needs. Position Summary

This Communications Principal position will help drive communications within the Organizational Readiness (OR) team, specifically focused on creating materials related to the rollout of Propel and Elevate – two strategic transformational initiatives rolling out across the organization. OR is responsible for all aspects of change management for the Propel program, including communication & engagement, training, and business readiness.

This role reports into the Head of Communications and Engagement and will be responsible for researching, drafting, finalizing and distributing communications materials to help drive awareness, education, engagement and advocacy for Propel and Elevate across all departments. The goal of the Communications and Engagement team is to craft clear, concise messages and deliver these messages in a consistent drumbeat so that all PG&E coworkers are fully aware of the new initiatives.

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be Oakland General Office (OGO). General expectations for working days in OGO are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of each week. There may be occasional reporting to alternate work locations, such as San Ramon, based on business need.

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed between the entry point and the middle of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors. ​

This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.

A reasonable salary range is:

Bay Area Minimum: $140,000

Bay Area Maximum: $238,000

Reporting Relationship

Reports into the Director, Communications and Engagement.

Job Responsibilities: Devise creative strategies for communicating the value of Propel and Elevate and key milestones for each initiative to coworkers across different areas of the organization. Create exceptional and creative content for internal channels & platforms, including messaging, video and photo content, executive preparation for presentations, and event-related communications. Use insights to inform content planning, analyze trends, identify lessons learned, and proactively propose recommendations for improvements. Partner with leaders and managers at all levels to advise on their approach to internal communications; acting as a trusted specialist. Coordinate and manage communication initiatives to maintain consistency in the brand's voice and image. Mentors and provides guidance to less experienced colleagues.

Qualifications

Minimum: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience. Minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience in employee communications, change management communications, or public relations.

Desired: Master's Degree in job-related discipline or equivalent experience. PMI-Project Management Institute PMP-Project Management Professional certification. Experience in helping drive change management initiatives within organizations. Experience working in public utility and energy industries. Ability to easily translate technology-speak into everyday language. Experience working across multiple departments within an organization and with multiple stakeholders. Ability to both architect compelling strategies and ideas, while also rolling up your sleeve and diving into day-to-day activities. Experience advising senior leadership on internal comms and engagement and partnering with them to influence, provide counsel and communications support. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines. Advanced technical proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint).
