Job Summary
The Prevailing Wage Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local prevailing wage regulations. This role involves maintaining accurate wage rate information, requesting and reviewing certified payroll reports (CPRs) from subcontractors, verifying proper classifications and rates, and serving as a point of contact for wage-related inquiries. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, communicative, and has prior experience working with subcontractors or in a compliance, payroll, or construction administration environment.
- Certified Payroll Coordination:
- Request, collect, and track certified payroll reports (CPRs) from subcontractors and internal teams.
- Review CPRs for accuracy and compliance with wage determinations and project requirements.
- Follow up on late or incomplete submissions and ensure corrections are made as needed.
- Prevailing Wage Compliance:
- Maintain accurate and current wage determinations for each project.
- Verify proper worker classifications, base rates, and fringe benefits.
- Assist with internal and external audits related to prevailing wage compliance.
- Subcontractor Communication:
- Serve as the main point of contact for subcontractors regarding CPR submissions and prevailing wage requirements.
- Provide clear instructions and support to ensure compliance.
- Build and maintain professional relationships to facilitate smooth reporting.
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Organize and maintain digital records of wage determinations and CPRs.
- Prepare compliance summaries and reports as requested by project managers or finance leadership.
- Support agency inquiries and audit requests.
- Internal Collaboration:
- Work closely with payroll, accounting, and project management teams to ensure compliance is fully integrated into project operations.
- Support training for internal staff and subcontractors on prevailing wage procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills for working with subcontractors and internal teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other office software.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Construction Management, or a related field — or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- 1 years of related work experience in prevailing wage compliance, certified payroll, construction administration, or a similar field.
- Working knowledge of the Davis-Bacon Act and/or state/local prevailing wage requirements.
- Experience in renewable energy or public works construction projects.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
