WHAT THIS ROLE LOOKS LIKE:
Under the supervision of the Assistant Plant Manager this position supports the pressing department in all areas of supervision. Is responsible for supporting and demonstrating the Core Values of Integrity, Safety, Respect, Customer Focus, Quality, Innovation and Financial Success. Performs other related duties as assigned.
SENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
•Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of workers involved in creating plaster models, molds, and pressing terra cotta veneers.
•Train, mentor, and evaluate staff to ensure proficiency in their roles.
•Foster a positive and productive work environment.
•Plan, schedule, and oversee production processes to meet daily, weekly, and monthly targets.
•Monitor the quality of plaster models, molds, and pressed products to ensure they meet company standards.
•Troubleshoot and resolve production issues promptly to minimize downtime.
•Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure consistency and accuracy in the production process.
•Conduct regular inspections of molds and finished products.
•Address any defects or inconsistencies and implement corrective actions.
•Ensure that all team members adhere to safety protocols and guidelines.
•Conduct regular safety meetings and training sessions.
•Maintain a clean and organized work area to prevent accidents and ensure efficient operations.
•Actively promote a workplace culture that prioritizes safety, encouraging employees to report hazards and practice safe work habits.
•Perform additional tasks as required by the department's needs.
•Lead recruiting, hiring and training of staff for area of responsibility.
•Responsible for monitoring and approving employee actions in EC (HRIS) in a timely manner.
•Responsible for auditing time data audit report of recorded time and errors and track attendance daily.
•Perform annual reviews for direct reports, engage in employee development and discipline as applicable.
•Attends safety meetings and abides by all safety rules set forth by company and governmental regulatory agencies; ensures that hazardous conditions are reported and corrected.
•Predictable and Regular in-person attendance is required.
QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
•High School Diploma and/or equivalent experience preferred.
•Requires on the job training to perform essential duties assigned.
•Basic reading, writing, and mathematical skills.
•Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish)
•Must be able to communicate efficiently with peers and superiors.
•Must be able to make reasonable decisions.
•Must be able to follow directions and work with minimal supervision.
•Must be able to read tape measures, full size, and schedules
•Regular attendance is required.
