Control Room Supervisor

Job Summary:

Operates the units safely, efficiently and in a cost-effective manner and complies with all federal and state regulations. Supervises the activities of those assigned to his/her jurisdiction providing necessary services. Takes direct action to correct abnormal situations and in the event of an emergency, maintains conditions to preserve plant integrity and provide for personnel safety.

Job Requirements: (Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills)

Primary Job Responsibilities:

1. Operates the plant safely, efficiently, cost effectively within environmental compliance, and manufacturer’s limits.

2. Responsible for initiating and reviewing work requests documenting equipment failures and observances utilizing the Maximo Work Order System – communicates as required with other departments, especially in the event of safety actions.

3. Communicates effectively and conducts appropriate training for shift personnel to ensure shift knowledge, safety policies and procedures and plant operational requirements are in place and followed.

4. Administrates Canal Generating LLC Conduct of Operation and assures compliance of others.

5. Responsible for safety orientation, encouraging safety awareness, policy and implementation for shift personnel. Ensures that Weekly Safety Meetings are administered and documented. Actively contributes to providing a safe working environment for all.

6. Assists when required in completion of injury/illness reports and adheres to plant policy guidelines

7. Provides appropriate documentation and communicates to the Operations Shift Supervisor and appropriate personnel issues, deficiencies, and suggestions for efficient plant operations.

8. Embraces, encourages and supports the team-based organization concept

9. Adopts a proactive style for resolving issues, implementing new practices.

10. Stay abreast of market conditions and rules

11. Maintain timely and accurate communication with ISO and EDF Marketing.

11. Apply appropriate performance management techniques including coaching for optimum performance by assigned staff.

12. Adhere to union contract.

13. Ensures workflow and information is uninterrupted between shifts.

14. Assists other watches during emergency events.

15. Other special projects or assignments as required.

Pay: $135,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
