Do you have a passion for working with metal? Do you enjoy seeing raw material transformed into a polished precision part? Do you love the sound of a mill, shear, or grinder in action? If you answered yes to any of these questions, we want you to join our team!
You will be responsible for creating precision test specimens that are used in hundreds of laboratories all over the world. Our products are used in Research & Development, Manufacturing, and Quality Assurance. Our customers test jet fuel, aircraft components, lubricants, coolants, paints, coatings and adhesives. Metaspec products are the global standard in specialty test specimens and we ship all over the world.
Your work will help our customers ensure that their products meet the highest quality and safety standards. Your attention to detail and commitment to excellence will help make the world a safer and better place. We are proud of the work we do, and we know that you will be too.
You'll receive hands-on training from our expert team to hone your metalworking skills and become a master of the trade. Some of the things you will learn include:
- Operating machines like shears, sanders, grinders and punches.
- Setting up and adjusting machines to ensure quality and accuracy.
- Working with a wide variety of materials, including steel, cast iron, aluminum, copper, brass, bronze, stainless steel, titanium, super alloys and plastics.
- Troubleshooting and solving quality problems like a boss.
- Collaborating with your team to meet high quality standards.
As you gain experience and expertise, you'll have the chance to take on more advanced projects, learn to set up and operate additional machines like mills, lathes and shears and move up the ranks to become a senior tech, lead or supervisor.
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- A real eye for detail and quality. If “good enough” isn’t good enough for you, you’ll feel at home here.
- At least some work experience in an area where quality really matters. This could be a precision machine shop, an engine rebuilding shop, auto paint or detailing, or working on aircraft components.
- A desire to work with your hands. The things we make aren’t heavy, but we will be using your hands, not sitting in an office.
Our entire facility is air conditioned and there are free soft drinks in the breakroom. You'll enjoy a competitive compensation and benefits package, generous time off, and the satisfaction of creating products that make a difference in the world.
We are located in Northwest San Antonio, just outside Balcones Heights. So, what are you waiting for? Join our team and let's make the world a better place together! We are an equal opportunity employer and welcome all qualified candidates to apply.
