Job Summary:

The Pre-Sales Estimator/ New Business Coordinator is responsible for accurately preparing data for evaluating and pricing extruded products, ensuring quotes are processed within 24 hours. They calculate various metrics, conduct presale review meetings, and provide design assistance, coordinating activities between production, die shop, sales, and customers for new business launches. Additionally, they use AutoCAD for customer specifications, maintain quote data for continuous improvement, and collaborate closely with the commercial team on market conditions and pricing strategies.

Required Education/Experience:

•

High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.

•

5 years of experience in manufacturing (extrusion, fabrication, anodizing) required.

•

Strong mathematical background including Algebra and Geometry.

•

Strong knowledge & expertise understanding plant capabilities (Extrusion, Fabrication, Anodize).

•

Advanced blueprint reading skills.

•

Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Access, and Auto CAD.

•

Must be technically and detail oriented.

•

Understanding of Aluminum Association tolerancing.

•

Excellent communication skills for required internal & external communications between Plant, Sales & Customers via e-mail, phone, in-house or on-site visits.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

•

Associate’s degree in mechanical engineering or computer aided design/ drafting preferred.

•

AutoCAD/ Drafting a plus.

Job Responsibilities:

•

Accountable for accurate preparation of data required for evaluation & pricing of extruded products to process quotes with 24-hour turnaround time.

•

Calculate area, perimeter, weight/foot, factor & circle size to prepare all new customer quotations.

•

Conducts presale review meetings with plant pre-sale team daily/when necessary.

•

Provide product and process information to other departments and operations as necessary.

•

Provide design assistance to presale team & customers to include redesign of customer parts.

•

Coordinates all necessary activities between production, die shop, Sales and customers related to the launch of new customer business & profiles.

•

Ability to use AutoCAD system in preparing prints per Customer Specifications

•

Maintains and performs periodic analysis of quote data for continuous improvement and accuracy of pricing/quoting model.

•

Maintains close partnership with Commercial team & intercompany transfers based on market conditions, new business growth & pricing strategies.

•

Minimal travel required.
