ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:

McDougall Energy is looking for an organized detail-oriented and analytical forward-thinking individual to fill the position of Business Manager, Development. Reporting to the Director, Sales, The Business Manager, Development, will play a crucial role in identifying, evaluating, and making recommendations on potential expansion into target segments and/or territories. They will also work will work to provide support to the Director, Commercial Sales in establishing and monitoring of Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) to evaluate sales effectiveness and productivity.



Responsibilities include:

Seeking out new sales methods and technologies that can be integrated into the sales process for improved results and organic growth.
Customer Relationship Management (CRM): Working with the Commercial Sales Director to develop trend reporting from the CRM
Working with marketing in the creation of strategic sales campaigns and initiatives to ensure effective allocation of resources, reporting, and effective outcomes.
Work with the Commercial Sales Director and functional leaders to continuously refine and enhance business line strategies
Work with internal stakeholders to develop a Customer Value Proposition by segment, highlighting the Company’s differentiation factors (fleet, plants, supply, knowledge, capital, brands etc.).
Review current product offerings and recommend enhancements (and associated strategy for introduction, current offer for fuels, lubricants, propane, diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) and potential new offerings such as Esso Diesel Efficient and low carbon fuels etc.
Evaluate target segments for potential expansion (agriculture, fleet, construction, forestry, aviation, waste, manufacturing).
Identifying inefficiencies in sales processes and working with the Commercial Sales Director to implement solutions to enhance operational effectiveness.
Work with the Commercial Sales Director to streamline the customer onboarding process, and internal paperwork processes to maximize TM time in the field.
Sales Training: Tracking and coordinating training assigned to the sales team by the Sales Director/Regional Managers to support the sales team ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to achieve sales objectives.
Working with other functions, to coordinate efforts and align strategies for better overall performance and overall improvement in the efficiency ratio.
Creating sales forecasts and performance reports for management to inform decision-making.
Preparing appropriate Business Case studies & presentations, as required.
Preparing and compiling monthly reports for commercial sales director and leadership.
Explore opportunities to further penetrate existing customer base with Company product bundling.
Work with the Commercial Sales Director in identifying geographic areas of expansion and creating business cases to support.


ABOUT YOU:

Five to Ten years’ experience in Sales or Customer Service
Post Secondary degree or diploma in Business or Marketing
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including written and verbal
Advanced Microsoft Suite knowledge: Excel, Word, & PowerPoint skills; ability within Excel to filter, sort, make simple calculations (e.g. sum, average); ability to format documents in a professional manner.
Demonstrated ability to shift focus with ease.
Demonstrated ability to manage large volumes of data; strong attention to detail.
High ability to establish and maintain successful cross-functional working relationships.
Strong organizational and time management skills; committed to deadlines.
Strong analytical skills a must.
Adaptable to change and to ability to make tough decisions when required.
Strong organizational and prioritization skills; committed to deadlines.
High-energy, self-started that can work effectively within a strong team culture.
Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic business environment.
