Location: Blackwater Mine site - located 160 km southwest of Prince George, BC.
Schedule: Two (2) Weeks On – Two (2) Weeks Off Rotation
Reporting to the Infrastructure Supervisor, the Plumber / Waste Water Treatment Plant Technician (WWTP Technician) is responsible for the installation, maintenance and repairs associated with plumbing, heating, gas lines and equipment as well as the waste water and fresh water treatment plant.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate effective safety leadership by addressing and enforcing BW Golds safety standards, procedures, and safety systems.
- Respond to gas and plumbing issues.
- Install new plumbing and gas services.
- Maintain and service heating units and components.
- Maintain kitchen equipment.
- brazing, soldering, glue, groove or threading joints.
- Tend to and adhere to the maintenance and preventative maintenance programs, including cleaning of all plumbing and gas equipment.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot problems.
- Read blueprints and specifications to determine the layout of plumbing systems, as well as the location of pipes, fittings, and fixtures.
- Ensure compliance with building codes.
- Maintain plumbing tools and equipment.
- Work with other professionals, such as electricians, HVAC technicians, and construction workers, to ensure that plumbing systems are properly integrated with other building systems.
- Maintain and service a wastewater treatment plant
- Must be able to work within industrial safety standards and respect the traditional territories and culture of the Indigenous communities which host the project site.
- Industrial Plumber Red Seal Certificate, BC - B Gasfitter Certificate,
- (5) years' experience as a Journeyman Plumber/Gasfitter.
- EOCP WWTP Certification
- EOCP SWS Certification
- Experience with routine maintenance operations.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and legal regulations and guidelines.
- A valid Class 5 driver’s license required.
- Experience working in a camp environment is considered an asset.
- OFA 3 would be considered an asset.

- Ability to work at a remote location camp on a 2 weeks on/2 weeks off rotation.
- Ability to maintain high levels of performance over 12-hour shift.
- Ability to work in extreme weather conditions.
- Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally.
- The physical ability to safely lift to 50 lbs., as well as performing repetitive motions, bending, crouching and/or kneeling for long periods throughout the day.
