We are seeking a Planning Engineer to support production planning, material coordination, and performance tracking for our Coating Plant in Little Rock.
This role ensures operations run efficiently by aligning production schedules, materials, and maintenance activities while using data to identify opportunities for improvement.
This is an entry-level to early-career role ideal for engineers who want hands-on experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Support production schedules, dispatch, and shipment planning
- Maintain Bills of Material (BOM) aligned with production plans
- Ensure raw material readiness prior to production runs
- Track plan vs. actual performance and report variances
- Support MRP processes to maintain uninterrupted operations
- Monitor material usage and maintain accurate ERP data
- Assist with purchase requisitions and coordination of critical spares
- Partner with procurement and vendors as needed
- Build and maintain production and performance reports
- Analyze plant data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and bottlenecks
- Support root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective actions
- Provide insights to improve throughput and operational performance
- Assist with preventive and predictive maintenance planning
- Support CMMS tracking and downtime analysis
- Participate in reliability initiatives (PM, TPM, continuous improvement)
- Support capital projects, upgrades, and process improvements
- Assist with SOPs, work instructions, and safety documentation
- Ensure compliance with quality and safety standards (API, ISO, OSHA)
- Use digital tools (Excel, ERP, etc.) to streamline reporting and analysis
- Support automation of repetitive tasks and data processes
- Apply data-driven thinking to improve planning accuracy and efficiency

- Operations, Production, or related field
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work with data and operational metrics
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (required)
- Experience or exposure to ERP systems (SAP preferred)
- Basic understanding of production planning, MRP, or maintenance concepts
- Internship or co-op experience in manufacturing
- Exposure to tools like AutoCAD, Minitab, or similar
- Lean Six Sigma or APICS (CPIM) knowledge
- Detail-oriented with strong ownership mindset
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, plant environment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
