Piping and Pump Mechanic

Founded in 1889 by Thomas Sydnor under the name Sydnor Pump and Well Company, Inc. and have since expanded to meet the needs of hundreds of customers throughout the mid-Atlantic.Sydnor Hydro is seeking an experienced Piping and Pump Mechanic to join our growing team! This role is key to supporting water and wastewater system installations and service projects across the region. This is a blended trade for individuals that enjoy the opportunity to work in a blended trade where piping, electrical and controls experience is gained. This is an on-site position in Richmond, VA.

What you'll do:

- Perform water and wastewater system installations, maintenance, and repairs

- Install basic controls including VFD systems

- Operate and maintain equipment as part of system installation and service work

- Troubleshoot issues and complete quality repairs for less than 20 hp pumps and motors

- Ensure compliance with safety standards and project requirements

- Travel to local customer locations

Background/ Experience:

- Experience in underground piping, well pump service and installation, wastewater system installation and service

- Ability to troubleshoot both mechanical and electrical problems

- Experience in plumbing and electrical work required

- Ability to read blueprints and specification requirements

- Equipment operator and CDL license a plus

- Valid driver's license and clean driving record

- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

- Strong communication skills

- Ability to work Monday-Friday 7:00-4:30 and rotating emergency on-call

Pay: $25.00 - $31.00 per hour
