The People and Culture Specialist is a dynamic role that divides its time between two key functions: 60% focused on designing, implementing, and evaluating training and safety programs for field employees; and 40% dedicated to executing initiatives that foster a positive company culture, employee engagement, and operational efficiency.
- Design, evaluate, and improve training programs and materials to meet specific team needs.
- Identify and document training needs for new and current employees based on performance.
- Execute the full onboarding process for all field employees, including safety onboarding and integration into the company’s culture and operations.
- Lead the design and execution of weekly training sessions covering technical, operational, safety, and company-specific policies and procedures.
- Ensure all field employees are fully trained in safety procedures, job responsibilities, and the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Coordinate the execution of all company events, traditions, and recognition programs that foster team spirit and promote employee engagement.
- Provide support in the recruitment process, including field, management, and leadership positions.
- Process new employee information into the payroll system, ensuring accurate and timely entry into the company’s payroll system.
- Manage and coordinate all employee communications regarding upcoming events, compliments, recognition programs, training programs, and other internal announcements.
3 to 5 years of experience in training & development role, preferably in similar industries (landscaping, construction, or industrial services).
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred but not required).
Bilingual_ English and Spanish skills are mandatory._
- Proven ability to design and implement effective training programs that meet quality and safety standards (OSHA).
- Familiarity with landscaping industry practices and equipment, including safe machinery operation and compliance with workplace safety standards.
- Strong presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Understanding of HR practices, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and performance management.
-Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), video creation tools (Synthesia, Hey Gen), and HR management platforms (LMS) for developing and managing training content, employee engagement initiatives, and internal communications.
