Large independent oil and gas drilling contractor needs a payroll assistant.
Duties include: responsible for entering all payroll data into payroll software, collecting and verifying timekeeping information, issuing statements and maintaining records, investigating and resolving any discrepancies in payroll. Preparing and submitting reports, handling questions regarding payroll from employees. This position will also assist HR with record keeping.
Skills required: 5 years previous payroll or accounting degree. Proficiency in MS Office. Experience with child support, garnishments and VOE's. Previous workers comp experience helpful. Experience with Ulti Pro and BI is a plus, but not required. Ideal candidates must have excellent excel skills, great accuracy and attention to detail, meet strict deadlines and be able to multi-task, prioritize important tasks as well as knowledge of HR/Payroll laws. Position requires confidentiality for employee records.
