As a Payment Processing Associate, you will support Irving Oil’s various lines of business through accurate application of complex customer payments, as well as contribute to working capital improvements within Accounts Receivable.

Your Responsibilities:
•Complete daily bank deposits for various business lines
•Create, adjust, and upload customer EFT (electronic funds transfer) files from various A/R (accounts receivable) systems
•Process bank returns and NSF (non-sufficient funds) items
•Match payments to open invoices for commercial accounts
•Manage rejected payments from incoming payment files
•Credit card payment application, file submission, balancing, and chargebacks
•Application of customer payments from all payment sources
•Perform other tasks as needed to assist and support objectives of the department and the company
Your Skills:
•Strong sense of accuracy and attention to detail

•Solid Excel skills to continuously look for ways to eliminate manual processes and automate them
•Excellent relationship building and customer service skills
•Strong written and verbal communication skills
•Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple stakeholders

•Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
Your Experience:
•Post-secondary education in finance, accounting, or equivalent experience
•Minimum 2 years of business experience
•Basic accounting knowledge
•Good knowledge of IT services
•Knowledge of Canadian Payment Association and NACHA (National Automated Clearing House Association) is an asset
•Experience working in the following systems is an asset: SAGE, JD Edwards, Credit Manager, ADD Energy (Advanced Digital Data)
