About The Job
CORE Electric Cooperative is seeking a Billing/Payments Specialist to join our Billing & Payments team, reporting to the Billing & Payments Manager, located in our Sedalia office. This individual handles the processing of regular billing cycles, corrects billing errors, addresses billing issues for member accounts, and manages other billing-related tasks for member accounts. They also perform duties related to member payments, account adjustments and refunds, capital credits, collections and write-offs, and account research, as necessary. Additionally, this individual assists with other tasks assigned to the Billing and Payment team as needed.

+ Release/apply deposits per policy and once account criteria are met. + Waive, evaluate, and adjust for account usage changes. + Support the monthly deposit interest process. + Void/cancel uncashed deposit refund checks.
+ Posting and balancing all payment channels. + Posting auto-pay files daily. + Daily Returns. + Support the credit balance process.
+ Running TRIB (Transfer/Refund Inactive Balances) + Process return refund checks. + Void/cancel uncashed refunds.
+ Transfers, splits, and deceased/dissolved retirements. + For deceased/dissolved retirements, manage/track documentation needed for release of capital credits. + Support the annual allocation process. + Process returned refund checks.
+ Process delinquent events including penalty, notices, reminder calls and disconnects. + Support Payment Specialist II in monthly write off processing and reporting as needed. + Monitor and work assigned Tasks.
+ Support MSR’s via calls to team. + Assist in meeting department and team goals. + Participate in team training. + Analyze account details to resolve customer inquiries.
