Primary Purpose
Provides advanced engineering expertise to design, optimize, and integrate complex systems across multiple disciplines. Leads technical reviews, ensures compliance with industry standards, and delivers innovative solutions that improve operational performance and sustainability.
The Senior LNG DCS Control Engineer is responsible for the design, configuration, optimization, and maintenance of the Distributed Control System (DCS) for LNG liquefaction, storage, and loading operations. This role ensures safe, reliable, and efficient plant performance by supporting process automation, troubleshooting system issues, leading control strategy improvements, and providing technical expertise during operations, maintenance, and project execution.
Duties and Responsibilities
Provides engineering guidance to technicians and operators for troubleshooting and maintenance activities.
Creates construction cost projections and evaluates the technical effort requirements for projects.
Contributes to implementing maintenance strategies to minimize equipment failures and downtime.
Identifies potential hazards and develops mitigation strategies.
Ensures cost-effective procurement of engineering materials and services.
Contributes to creating engineering procedures to enhance efficiency and consistency.
Identifies opportunities to enhance operational efficiency and reliability.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Lead configuration, programming, testing, and maintenance of the plant DCS (e.g., Emerson DeltaV, or equivalent).
Develop and optimize control narratives, logic diagrams, HMI graphics, process alarms, and system architecture documentation
Implement advanced control strategies (APC), sequence controls, and interlocks to improve plant performance and reliability.
Maintain cybersecurity best practices for control systems and ensure compliance with industry standards.

Required Qualifications
Education
Typically requires a 4 year degree in a relevant field, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
Experience
Typically requires 8 years of related experience.
8–12+ years of experience in process automation, controls engineering, or DCS engineering in the LNG, petrochemical, refining, or gas processing industry
5+ years Strong proficiency with at least one major DCS platform (Emerson DeltaV, ABB, etc.).
5+ years experience with cryogenic process control, compressor control, gas turbine integration, and safety systems.
5+ years experience with industry standards: ISA S88/S95, IEC 61508/61511, API, NFPA, and relevant LNG regulations.
