BASIC FUNCTION: Responsible for specific accounts assigned and for development of new accounts.
- Develops new accounts in specified territory and is responsible for sales to assigned accounts.
- Understands pricing policies and makes clear in writing any acceptance deadlines on quotations subject to later acceptance.
- Maintains knowledge of yard inventory and surplus items.
- Maintains adequate records of required daily, weekly or monthly call reports.
- Makes estimates and/or quotations (unless assigned to estimator).
- Maintains a file on all new products.
- Maintains familiarity with all building material and lumber products and how used.
- Maintains a communication record on all existing and prospective contractor customers assigned.
- Stays abreast of all building permits in area.
- Attends Home Builder Association meetings.
- Attends bid openings involving potential business in area.
- Maintains a prospect file for future sales.
- Maintains familiarity with building code requirements, FHA and VA regulations.
- Follows up on all customer complaints.
- Maintains knowledge of Tindell's credit policy and terms of sales.
- Keeps the Credit Manager informed of possible credit problems with accounts.
- Ability to do basic math, read blue prints, do material take off, read orders, follow instructions and complete forms.
- Communicate with customers, other employees and manages using verbal and written skills.

May work inside in many different environments.
May work outside in temperatures ranging from extreme heat to extreme cold.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Must be able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach with manual dexterity and see (acuity, depth perception, field of vision).

LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION:
Valid operator's license.
Insurability for driving.
EDUCATION:
High school diploma or GED
Some college or technical school training in construction trades (preferred)
EXPERIENCE:
2 years' experience in the lumber industry or in related field
