We are looking for an OSP Permit Specialist I to join our Engineering Department and assist with managing and coordinating various aspects of the permitting process for telecommunications infrastructure projects across the U.S.
As an integral part of our engineering team, the OSP Permit Specialist I will support the success of our initiatives by assisting with permit applications, tracking permit status, and helping to ensure efficient project execution through close coordination with internal teams and external agencies
Responsibilities
•Research permitting policies, GIS data, and contacts; coordinate with agencies to complete required questionnaires;
•Coordinate meetings with internal teams and town planners to review project boundaries and permitting needs;
•Submit Joint Use pole applications with specifications, ensuring compliance with pole owner requirements;
•Submit Right-of-Way (ROW) permits to DOT and other relevant authorities;
•Track and manage permit submittals, approvals, and communications in internal databases and SharePoint;
•Monitor jurisdictional portals for updates and ensure timely responses to revisions, draft changes, and route modifications;
•Track permit statuses, expiration dates, and IDs to ensure compliance with client timelines;
•Facilitate communication between internal teams and permitting jurisdictions throughout the project;
•Install and maintain WhatsApp, Microsoft Teams, and Outlook for work communication, remaining active and responsive.
Requirements
* A minimum of 2 years of proven experience as a permit specialist in the utilities industry;
•Knowledge of utility regulations, codes, and standards, NESC, Municipal codes;
•Knowledge Joint Use practices;
•Proficiency in KMZ’s, Smartsheets, Excel;
•Proficiency in using software tools for tracking, mapping and managing permits and project functions.
