The Operations Planner plays a critical role in aligning production and material plans with customer and internal demands. This position is responsible for developing, managing, and optimizing schedules for spare parts, repair kits, and rebuild components to ensure timely availability and delivery. The role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, procurement, logistics, forecasting, and customer support to drive efficient planning processes, support operational goals, and enable exceptional service performance.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
•Develop and maintain production and material schedules for spare parts, repair kits, and rebuild components to align with customer and internal demands.
•Ensure optimized inventory positioning to meet turnaround requirements for both planned and urgent service needs.
•Collaborate with Demand Planning & Forecasting to align material plans with forecasted service needs and market trends.
•Coordinate with Operations Execution to ensure schedules are actionable and prioritized according to customer and business needs.
•Partner cross-functionally with Procurement, Logistics, Regional Service Teams, Product Line Managers, and Customer Support to create efficient, executable plans.
•Resolve shortages, constraints, and schedule conflicts to maintain on-time delivery.
•Monitor backlog and open orders to drive prioritization and maintain critical stock levels.
•Maintain accurate MRP data, including part planning parameters, BOM accuracy, and material requirements planning inputs.
•Support demand forecasting by analyzing historical usage and future service requirements.
•Track and report KPIs such as schedule adherence, inventory turns, and plan accuracy.
•Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives related to planning processes, system utilization, and working capital performance.
•Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.
•Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.
FACILITY/GROUP SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
•Support global spare parts and aftermarket operations through strategic material planning.
•Enable optimized delivery and service performance through cross-regional coordination.
•Actively contribute to planning-related projects and improvement efforts across the supply chain.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
•Bachelor’s degree in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
•Minimum of 5 years of experience in production planning, supply chain planning, SIOP, or similar roles, preferably in a manufacturing or aftermarket/service environment.
•ERP experience required (Oracle Cloud, SAP, or similar).
•Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, reporting) required.
•Experience in oilfield services or industrial equipment planning is highly desirable.
•APICS, Six Sigma, or equivalent supply chain certification is a plus.
