Position Summary:
As the Operations Manager in our manufacturing facility, you will play a pivotal role in leading and enhancing our production operations. You will lead a team of supervisors and individual contributors to drive operational excellence, improve efficiency, and maintain the highest standards of quality, safety, and sustainability. The Operations Manager also leads Precision Stainless’ purchasing, shipping, and receiving functions.
Primary Functions:
•Leads the Operations function and establishes quantitative and qualitative SQDC metrics, guidelines, and standards by which the company's efficiency and effectiveness can be evaluated.
•Meets or exceeds daily, monthly and annual Business Unit Operational Goals in key areas like on-time delivery, inventory days, inventory investment, and quality.
•Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates operations procedures incorporating 5S, Kaizen, Visual factory concepts, and lean manufacturing principles; using the results to identify and implement policies and procedures that will continuously improve day-to-day operations.
•Ensures work environments and tools are appropriate and safe.
•Coach, develop, and lead operations, purchasing, shipping, and receiving staff while maintaining positive communication and culture.
•Leads by example and “gets hands dirty” when needed.
•Collaborates with other departments and external contacts to manage workflow, understand business forecasts, anticipate headcount needs, and plan operations and inventory accordingly.
•Manages material sourcing, qualifies vendors, and supports Quality with vendor audits.
•Works closely with Quality to maintain supplier scorecard, while maintaining positive supplier relationships and accountability
•Projects a positive image of the organization to employees and external contacts.
•Supports company strategies and goals.

Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree or higher in business, engineering, or related field required
•Ten or more years of operations and supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment
•Five or more years of leadership experience, preferably leading a team of 5-10 people
•Experience/examples of Building a Positive Culture
•Experience with 5S, Lean Manufacturing and Theory of Constraints (TOC) principles
•Project Management/New Product Introduction Experience
•Familiar with vendor negotiations and purchasing functions
•Must be able to perform the physical demands of the job such as:
•o Safely navigating a manufacturing environment
•o Extended periods of sitting and using computer and office equipment
•o Some standing, walking, bending, and occasional lifting up to 25 lbs
•o Using computer and office equipment
•o Ability to become forklift certified
•o Occasional travel by air and car – valid driver’s license required
