Operations Manager.Reporting to the Director of Regional Operations, the Operations Manager, Metro is responsible for the safe and efficient planning, scheduling and execution of territory resources. As part of the Energy Delivery team, the Operations Manager will lead the team which is responsible for the planning, construction, operation, maintenance and service restoration of the transmission and distribution system within the Territory in order to provide excellent customer service.
Key Elements Of This Role Include
- You will be responsible for personal safety, that of co-workers, and those under your direction by observing and ensuring compliance with all Occupational Health and Safety Rules and Regulations.
- You will be accountable for environmental performance as it relates to the environmental management system processes and initiatives.
- You will ensure that Nova Scotia Power's business purpose and financial objectives are met through long and short term planning of resources.
- You will ensure that all vehicle, equipment, maintenance and operating procedures are effectively executed.
- You will contribute to overall long term business planning and operations by effectively developing work plans and managing capital and operating budgets.
- You will ensure that the needs of NSP's customers are a primary focus of all service area activities by delivering on customer service excellence.
- The successful candidate will lead the operations team in the service area to ensure the highest level of performance while ensuring that effective health and safety programs are in place.
- You will maintain high level of employee morale, commitment and productivity by training, developing, motivating and communicating with staff.
- You will administer the Collective Agreement, ensuring just and consistent interpretation through the service area.
- University degree or possess a suitable combination of education and experience
- A minimum of seven to ten years supervisory and leadership experience in a utility environment, with emphasis on safety & customer service excellence.
- Must possess excellent leadership, management, communication, organizational and motivational skills and be able to work effectively in the Regional Operations team, contributing significant value
- Knowledge of resource work planning and utility finances would be an asset
