The Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing the repairs, maintenance, and field activity in the Permian region (West Texas, New Mexico). This role will lead the operations which consists of Field Service Managers, Field Service Technicians, and CDL Drivers. It is estimated that the majority of your time will be spent on Team Safety and management functions as well as reviewing and solving mechanical performance issues of company-owned equipment, preventative maintenance planning, meeting with customers at various locations, and in the field or shop assisting team members as necessary.
- Provide daily safety, technical and managerial leadership to Field Management to support efficient operations and high levels of customer service
- Work with Foremen and Field Managers to assemble and distribute weekly operations and work plans to team members
- Communicate professionally, efficiently, and frequently with customers when issues arise
- Regularly drive a company vehicle to visit customer sites
- Coordinate repairs, preventative maintenance, and trouble-shooting of power generation units on rent. Please note that your duties will require night and weekend work at times. The nature of the work can include coordinating with customers and technicians during weekday and weekend nights.
- Reconcile parts inventory on a monthly basis per established inventory management processes
- Responsible for updates to operations management system and company cloud/shared drives on a daily basis in order to keep track of maintenance, inventory, and operational effectiveness
- Coordinate with Maintenance Manager and Foremen to ensure timely repair and state of readiness of broken/idle generators at Baseline yard in accordance with maintenance repair plans to meet weekly expected generator throughput
- Oversee and ensure proper completion of field service tickets through Operations Management System for all work completed in the field:
- Properly identify and record labor, mileage, and materials used
- Ensure all team members complete and submit field service tickets daily
- Directly manage all costs related to the region and identify opportunities for improved cost control
- Work closely with Sales Department to ensure operations meets and exceeds customer expectations and provide support to acquire new business opportunities
- Provide frequent guidance and performance feedback (annual and ad hoc) to team members in accordance with HR policies and procedures
- Manage personnel-related issues as they arise with professionalism, honesty, and integrity
- Maintain and promote safe working habits at all times in accordance with Baseline, customer, and industry HSE standards to uphold Baseline’s culture of safety
- Demonstrate a high sense of safety ownership and compliance to all regulatory agencies (i.e. OSHA, FMCSA/DOT, TCEQ, EPA, Baseline HSE Procedures, etc.)
- Investigate safety incidents to identify root causes and preventative actions for reoccurrence. Actions developed will be worked to closure.
- Minimum 5 years experience managing a team of rental professionals in oilfield service or similar industry
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university preferred
- Working knowledge of natural gas power generation products preferred
- Demonstrated ability to lead a technical team made of up highly skilled Technicians and Mechanics
