Job Summary
The Operations Manager will be responsible for the local delivery and service activity at our Pico Propane plant in Fort Lauderdale, FL, overseeing the day-to-day operations of the propane and distribution plant. The primary objective is to ensure that all aspects of the plant's operations are running efficiently, effectively, and safely. The Operations Manager will manage delivery and service schedules, oversee inventory control, maintain the fleet, ensure plant safety, and comply with environmental regulations.
Additionally, the role includes managing new construction projects, including the creation of isometric drawings and the acquisition of necessary permits. The ideal candidate will have a proactive approach, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. They will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and growth of the propane plant, maintaining high standards of safety, efficiency, and customer service.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:•Oversee day-to-day operations of propane distribution and storage
•Ensure efficient and timely delivery of propane to customers
•Manage inventory levels to ensure adequate supply while minimizing excess stock
•Ensure all operations comply with company, local, state, and federal regulations regarding propane handling and storage
•Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and ensure the safety of employees and customers
•Conduct regular safety inspections and audits
•Supervise and manage a team of delivery drivers, technicians, and support staff
•Provide training and development opportunities for staff to improve their skills and knowledge
•Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to employees
•Maintain high standards of customer service to ensure customer satisfaction
•Handle customer complaints and issues promptly and effectively
•Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers
•Plan and coordinate delivery schedules to optimize efficiency and meet customer demands
•Manage route planning and fleet maintenance to ensure timely and safe deliveries
•Oversee the scheduling of routine maintenance and inspections for propane equipment
•Responsible for new construction process, including isometric drawings, permitting, and scheduling

Education and/or Experience:
•An associate’s degree or high school diploma/GED with five to ten years relatable experience in home service and/or energy industry
•Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
•CDL A with hazmat and tanker endorsements preferred
Skills and/or Abilities:
•Ability to obtain Florida Master Qualifier within 90 days of employment
•Proven leadership with the ability to motivate and coach a team
•Ability to speak clearly, professionally, and eloquently, while using active listening skills
•Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints
•Ability to handle multiple demands at one time
•Proficient in the current Microsoft Office Suite
