Operations Manager

Ready to lead the charge in cutting-edge nuclear operations? As the Operations Manager at Centrus Energy, you'll oversee uranium enrichment cascades in Piketon—juggling UF₆ processing, DCS control, and safety protocols with precision and creativity. You’ll operate machines, guide integrated system testing, and craft procedures that power both routine and emergency scenarios. Lead a team of experts, design training programs, and possibly even step in as Plant Manager—where every decision steers the future of clean, advanced nuclear energy.

What You Will Do:

You'll build and mentor a high-performing operations crew, ensure compliance with NRC licensing and union agreements, and oversee and maintain responsibility for all centrifuge operations—from control-room management, cascade production to shipping and receiving UF6 cylinders, and Balance of Plant utility systems. Your mission: establish a strategic vision for the safe and compliant operation of uranium enrichment processes including building robust procedures, training, and emergency protocols; execute Integrated Systems & Test Plans (ISTP); manage UF₆ handling; and maintain plant readiness—always with safety and excellence at the forefront. And when the Plant Manager is away, you’ll step up to keep operations running smoothly.

In addition, once employe, employees will become part of a random drug testing program and may also be tested in the event of any incident causing injury or causing damage to property, or if it is determined that there is a reasonable suspicion the employee is under the influence of drugs or alcohol. This position will require preemployment background check on the part of the Company and in order to receive a DOE security clearance, a background investigation by the Federal government. Subsequent Federal government reinvestigations may be required.
