The Operations Business Analyst II supports midstream and CCUS operations by managing,
analyzing, and interpreting complex datasets from pipeline, compression, and processing
systems. This role bridges the gap between operations and engineering, providing high-quality
data analytics, tools, and insights to optimize performance, ensure regulatory compliance, and
support business decisions. The ideal candidate combines technical acumen with strong data
management capabilities to enhance operational reliability and efficiency.
This role works to achieve operational targets under supervision. Requires the ability to explain
facts, policies and practices related to the area of work. Demonstrates integrity, accountability
and transparency; upholds BKV standards, values and culture.
- Collect, organize, and validate data from multiple sources.
- Ensure data integrity and consistency through quality control, standardization, and
cleansing processes.
- Maintain master datasets related to pipeline systems, compressors, facility metrics, and operational assets.
Develop and maintain dashboards, visualizations, and reports using tools such as Power BI and Spotfire to monitor asset performance and health.
- Perform time-series and trend analysis on key metrics (e.g., throughput, pressures, temperatures, reliability, fuel usage).
- Provide actionable insights to support midstream operations.
- Assist in the development and enhancement of data tools, models, and reports to streamline workflows and automate recurring tasks.
- Act as a power user and liaison for systems such as SCADA.
- Support the implementation of advanced analytics, predictive maintenance tools, and digital operations initiatives.
- Provide data and analytical support for engineering studies, asset optimization, outage planning, and root cause analyses.
- Partner with project and field engineering teams to capture as-built data, performance results, and commissioning outcomes.
- Assist in documenting operational changes and validating updates to system data.
- Generate datasets and reports to support DOT/PHMSA, EPA, state regulatory filings, and internal compliance programs.
- Track performance KPIs and integrity-related data (e.g., hydrotest results, ILI runs, corrosion rates) for use in audits and inspections.
- Work closely with engineering, field operations, EH&S, IT, and asset integrity teams to understand data needs and deliver solutions.
- Translate complex data into clear, user-friendly summaries for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Participate in cross-functional projects to improve data systems and reporting infrastructure.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and job-related applications. Uses insights from digital tools to improve performance.
- Proficiency in Excel, SQL, and one or more data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Spotfire).
- Familiarity with SCADA/Historian systems (e.g., OSI PI), CMMS (e.g., Maximo), GIS tools (e.g., ESRI), and pipeline simulation or modeling software is a plus.
- Knowledge of data governance, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts.
- Understanding of regulatory reporting requirements (DOT, PHMSA) is a plus.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
