SUMMARY:
The Operations Finance Analyst is a key member of the plant leadership team, responsible for managing all financial control and accounting activities at the plant. This role emphasizes operational efficiencies including inventory and cost management, supports the Corporate Finance team during month-end close, and acts as a business partner to the Plant Operations Leadership Team to drive financial performance aligned with United Alloy’s Strategic Initiatives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operational Efficiencies:
•Support and implement strategies to improve productivity and reduce costs.
•Monitor plant results against operating plans and prepare financial and operational reports.
•Recommend and implement programs to improve productivity and reduce costs.
•Conduct timely and accurate inventory and costing analysis.
•Develop labor and overhead rate variance analysis with improvement recommendations.
•Collaborate with operations to improve gross margin through cost reduction.
•Monitor inventory, WIP, and fixed asset usage with hands-on accuracy.
•Analyze and explain cost variances proactively.
•Provide financial visibility into yield loss, labor efficiency, machine utilization, and throughput.
•Link financial metrics to operational KPIs to drive continuous improvement.
Month-End Close:
•Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
•Support close deliverables and timelines.
•Assist in preparation of plant-level financial statements.
•Provide forecasts and variance explanations with corrective action plans.
•Business Partner to Operations:
•Serve as a financial advisor to plant management.
•Collaborate on KPIs and operational metrics.
•Support strategic planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
•Drive cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives.
•Analyze variances and drive corrective actions.
Financial Control and Compliance:
•Lead plant budgeting, forecasting, and capital planning.
•Track and control plant-level costs in real time.
•Ensure compliance with financial control processes, policies, and standards.
•Develop and oversee operational budgets with a focus on efficiency.
Leadership and Development:
•Provide financial leadership to the plant team.
•Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and team cohesion.
•Maintain day-to-day visibility and act as a business partner.
QUALIFICATIONS:
•Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
•3-5 years of finance or accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
•Strong understanding of cost accounting, inventory management, and variance analysis.
•Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); ERP systems experience preferred.
•Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
•Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence decision-making.
•Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
