EthosEnergy is currently seeking Operations and Maintenance Technicians to join the team at our 3 - GE Frame 6B facility located in Amarillo, TX. The Operating Maintenance Technician (OMT) is a multi-craft position requiring the technician to perform all functions related to power plant operations and maintenance. Being a multi-craft position requires the technician to be willing to perform facility maintenance in all areas including the installation of small pumps and motors, troubleshooting, and repair of instrumentation, CEMS, and electrical systems within the facility. This equipment includes, but is not limited to the Combustion Turbine Generators, and Auxiliary Equipment. The OMT will strictly adhere to all EthosEnergy safety and environmental policies and procedures.
- Competently operates and maintains a generating facility and all associated auxiliary and support equipment with minimal guidance or assistance.
- Must make excellent operating decisions based on plant procedures, environmental regulations, safety procedures, and using good judgment based on operating data.
- Periodically, equipment may need to be operated locally via PLC panel interfaces.
- Communicates plant issues and keeps the OMT 1, Lead OMT and/or Facility Manager fully informed of unusual conditions, damaged equipment, and current job progress as the job relates to facility operations. This also applies when performing maintenance when either on or off shift.
- Performs all functions related to plant operations including performing daily rounds, Preventative Maintenance, Corrective Maintenance, lockout tag out, and inspections.
- Must complete outside operator qualifications in a timely manner
- Opens and closes circuit breakers as required for proper system operation and electrical isolation.
- Troubleshoot and repair of all types of facility equipment.
- Proper use of electrical test equipment and other similar tools as required.
- Performs mechanical maintenance of equipment as required.
- Performs maintenance on electrical systems. (Consistent with EthosEnergy electrical safety practices)
- Reads meters and gauges to monitor and record data such as temperature of equipment, vibration of equipment, hours of operation, pressure, and fluid levels.
- Maintains drawings and prints as required.
- Communicates plant issues and concerns to the Lead OMT and assigned job progress.
- Uses facility operating procedures and equipment technical manuals to maintain and repair site equipment and to ensure that it is maintained and operated within manufacturer specifications.
- Utilizes CMMS to report and update all corrective & preventative maintenance.
- Maintains the cleanliness of all areas of the plant.
- Performs contractor oversite and ensures safe work practices are adhered to.
- This position works a scheduled shift which requires a flexible work schedule, including weekends and holidays.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Basic computer skills.
- Familiarization with 40CFR Part 75 and Part 60 environmental regulations.
- Will be required to operate fork trucks, man lifts, and other similar equipment as required.
- Reads, understands, and complies with all regulatory and facility safety procedures
- Experience in Operations of either a Simple or Combined Cycle Power Station or both is preferred.
- DCS experience is desired.
- Experience in electrical generation is desired.
- Minimum of two years’ experience in an industrial environment and the ability to demonstrate journeyman level knowledge in a maintenance craft.
- Experience with utilizing a corrective maintenance management system.
- Working knowledge of CEMS and DAHS systems preferred.
- Experience with the Operations of low, medium and high voltage switchgear and transformers is preferred.
- High School Graduate
- Apprenticeship or technical trade school a plus
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers dexterously to operate tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and communicate orally.
- Sitting for extended periods may be required.
- Work a 12-hour shift rotation.
- The employee must be able to regularly lift and transport up to 50 pounds.
- Work overtime, callouts, and irregular hours as needed to support reliable operation of the facility
- Approved Hourly Rate is $42.65 - $46.71 based on education and skill set.
