About This Job

Duties include, but are not limited to:

•

Intake all plant orders, check for accuracy and quality, unload trucks, and organize.

•

Stage and maintain plants: water, weed and care for all staged plants in nursery area.

•

Print out work tickets and assemble staging packets.

•

Tag and color code staged materials accordingly and update staging numbers in Aspire.

•

Complete weekly staging checks ensuring crews have everything needed.

•

Maintain an inventory list and email this out to production and sales teams each week.

•

Assist with staging of other materials in the supply yard as needed.

•

Maintain the facility and perform general upkeep; trash, recycle, watering, organization, etc.

Measurables:

•

Crews have 100% of materials staged every day.

•

Adhere to safety standards and PPE requirements.

•

Maintain above 95% attendance rating.

Reports to: director of landscape operations

Works closely with: supply yard team, field teams, directors

Direct reports: none

Typical Hours: Mon-Wed 6:30am-10:30am, Thurs- Fri 6:30am-4:00pm

Dress Code: uniform

Desired Experience and Education:

•

High school diploma or GED.

•

Must possess a driver’s license, clean criminal record, and have ability to pass a drug test.

•

Horticulture knowledge; basic plant ID and ability to learn scientific names

•

Basic computer literacy and ability to learn and navigate operations software.

•

Ability and skill to operate a skid steer is preferred.

•

Able to lift 50 lbs. without assistance.

•

Physically able to have full range of mobility in upper and lower body.

•

Always maintain a positive and supportive attitude.

•

Must have reliable transportation to and from work.

•

Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus.

Summary: The nursery assistant is responsible for the care and organization of our nursery staging area and operations. You must possess a positive attitude and a willingness to learn. The best candidates have a good knowledge of plants and how to care for them. You must also be a good communicator so that the operations can flow smoothly every day. Our team members conduct all jobs in a safe manner and in accordance with our company core values. This is a part time position approximately 27-30 hours per week.
