Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for plants and gardening, with a willingness to learn and grow in a nurturing environment. This role involves working both indoors in a greenhouse and outdoors, assisting in the care and maintenance of various plants. The Nursery Assistant will support daily operations, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.

Responsibilities

•

Assist with the irrigation of plants, ensuring they receive adequate water for optimal growth.

•

Participate in greenhouse operations, including planting, transplanting, and maintaining plant health.

•

Utilize hand tools for various gardening tasks such as pruning, weeding, and soil preparation.

•

Engage in outdoor work, including landscape maintenance and garden upkeep.

•

Identify different plant species and monitor their growth conditions.

•

Perform heavy lifting as required for moving plants and materials around the nursery.

•

Maintain cleanliness and organization within the nursery environment to promote safety and efficiency.

•

Collaborate with team members to ensure all nursery operations run smoothly.

Qualifications

•

Previous experience in gardening or horticulture is preferred but not mandatory.

•

Basic mechanical knowledge is advantageous for equipment maintenance.

•

Familiarity with plant identification is a plus.

•

Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) as needed throughout the day.

•

Strong work ethic with a commitment to quality and attention to detail.

•

Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

•

Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a team environment.
