YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

Reporting to the Energy Manager, you will be part of the Regional Strategy Department. You will be responsible for providing engineering support on strategic energy projects, energy saving initiatives, energy management plans, energy cost modelling, and applications for funding for the Ontario Region. The position will support the company’s Detour Lake and Macassa mines as well as other new facilities in Ontario that are part of the Company’s growth plan. You will also ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment. This role is specifically designed to develop the successful candidate into a licensed Professional Engineer, supporting a long-term career at Agnico Eagle.

- Preparing and reviewing financial models for strategic energy projects and providing discounted cash flow metrics;


- Reviewing project technical and financial assumptions;

- Reviewing energy capital projects for AFEs and Budget;


- Preparing data for energy management plans;


- Supporting energy saving and decarbonization initiatives;

- Contributing to technical analyses and design of energy and decarbonization projects;

- Maintaining cost models and tracking for electricity, diesel, and carbon tax;

- Collaborating with professionals from operations, engineering, and finance;

- Other duties may be assigned as required.


WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

- Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline relevant to the Mining industry (graduated within the last 2 years or soon to graduate);

- Operations, project engineering, or financial modeling experience in the mining industry;

- One to two years of previous experience or internships / co-op in the mining industry, consulting, or an energy-intensive sector;

- Have undertaken an energy efficiency or carbon saving project in a prior role or at University;

- Extensive analytical (Microsoft Excel, Power BI) and communication (Microsoft PowerPoint) skills;

- Willingness to learn new methods of data analysis and/or computer programming

- Willingness to engage in training to attain professional qualifications relevant to Energy Management and Engineering

- Some knowledge of approaches to OT/IT instrumentation, communications and techniques


- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills;


- Proficient technical writing ability;


- Attentional to detail;

- Experience in a cross cultural work environment;

- Proven commitment to health, safety and environment.

Your Work Schedule:

- Schedule: 40 hours per week, from Monday to Friday at our Timmins Regional Office or one of our satellite offices in Kirkland Lake, and Sudbury;

- This role is eligible for the Ontario Regional Teleworking Policy.


Compensation Statement

In accordance with applicable legislation, the expected compensation includes base salary and potential bonus opportunity. Your individual pay will reflect your skills and experience while remaining competitive within the local market.


Minimum Salary :


$77,000CAD
