Job Description

Boone REMC is looking for a Network Administrator.

The Network Administrator at Boone REMC is responsible for the daily administration, maintenance, and support of the organization's network and cybersecurity systems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. This role involves administering network topologies that integrate and segment multiple corporate, field, and wide-area networks, maintaining high redundancy and reliability. Additionally, the Network Administrator will review logs to identify potential security incidents, creates proactive alerts, collaborates with contractors and other departments, implements and maintains security protocols, conducts vulnerability assessments and penetration testing, and stays updated with the latest trends and technologies to enhance the organization's security posture.

The successful candidate will report to the IT Infrastructure Manager. Other items may be assigned according to business needs and directives.

Qualifications

•

(a) BA/BS Degree and 1 year of experience; (b) AA/two-year college program and 5 years of experience; of (c) high school and 10 years of experience.

•

Preferred certifications, such as Cisco CCNA, CCNP, or FortiNet NSE 4+.

•

Proficiency in networking technologies (e.g., LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, Ethernet).

•

Experience (1+ years) with Cisco IOS, FortiNet FortiOS, FortiManager, and ISE.

•

Experience (1+ years) with network hardware, including routers, switches, and firewalls.

•

Experience (1+ years) with cybersecurity, including implementing security measures, monitoring for potential threats, and responding to security incidents.

•

Ability to successfully manage multiple projects concurrently.

•

Ability to communicate effectively with non-technical users.

•

Ability to conduct research for hardware and software issues.

•

Requires “hands-on” work that includes running cables and terminating ethernet in various indoor and outdoor environments.
