Accountabilities: How You Will Make an Impact
The Infrastructure Administrator is responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of the company’s IT infrastructure, with a primary focus on Enterprise Linux, VMware virtualization, and Veeam backup solutions. Reporting to the Director of IT, this role oversees server and storage infrastructure, ensuring system availability, performance, and security. The Infrastructure Administrator will analyze production systems to identify performance bottlenecks and optimization opportunities, while also supporting internal users and collaborating closely with IT staff and company employees.
•Architect, deploy, and maintain enterprise infrastructure solutions across on-premise, virtual, and cloud environments, ensuring scalability, security, and high availability.
•Install, configure, and manage Linux servers (RHEL, Ubuntu) in both physical and virtualized environments.
•Administer VMware infrastructure, including ESXi hosts, vCenter, vSAN, and virtual networking.
•Oversee enterprise backup and disaster recovery strategies, ensuring business continuity through Veeam Backup & Replication across multi-site environments.
•Manage enterprise storage solutions (SAN, NAS, iSCSI, NFS), ensuring proper configuration, performance, and capacity planning.
•Automate infrastructure processes using scripting languages such as Bash, PowerShell, or Python to enhance efficiency and reduce manual tasks.
•Maintain infrastructure information security, data integrity and access procedures as per corporate security policy.
•Deploy and manage OS and application updates, ensuring compliance with security and operational policies.
•Proactively monitor, identify and manage systems and services resources; respond to system/service failures and problems. Analyze incidents and issues, identify risks, provide recommendations, and implement solutions to reduce user impact and ensure business continuity.
•Prepare and maintain detailed technical documentation, standards and policies and assist in the training of other resources as required. Provide technical guidance and leadership for any change management activities.
•Assist in development and implementation of backup and disaster recovery strategy for all systems. Maintain a DR plan and participate in periodic testing of that plan.
•Monitor system performance and availability, proactively identifying and resolving potential issues using monitoring and logging tools.
•Implement and enforce IT security best practices, including IAM, MFA, encryption, and secure access controls for enterprise systems.
•Lead or participate in IT projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement new technologies and improve business operations.
•Assists team members and other departments with testing new technologies and solutions. Lead and/or participate in the projects with other teams to design and deploy technical solutions to improve business operations.
•Provide Tier 3 technical support, acting as an escalation point for Tier ½ support staff. Troubleshoot user issues related to servers, data and applications, etc. Take ownership of all assigned tickets; researching and escalating to vendors as necessary.

What You Need to Succeed
•University degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline. Additional certifications an asset.
•5+ years of experience in enterprise Linux server administration (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu).
•5+ years of experience managing VMware infrastructure, including ESXi, vCenter, and virtual networking.
•Strong expertise with Veeam Backup & Replication, including backup strategies, replication, and disaster recovery planning.
•Experience managing enterprise storage solutions (SAN, NAS, iSCSI, NFS) and implementing best practices for storage performance and redundancy.
•Proficiency in scripting and automation (Bash, PowerShell, Python) for infrastructure management.
•Practical experience working with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy in hybrid Linux/Windows environments.
•Strong understanding of IT security principles, best practices, and compliance requirements.
•Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex infrastructure issues.
•Superior documentation, organization, and communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
•Proven ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently while collaborating in a team environment.
