Job Summary
The System Administrator will be responsible for maintaining and upgrading existing technology systems and will help troubleshoot and support employees’ technical problems.
Duties
•Manages and maintains all PC and server software updates.
•Serves as backup support for the virtualization infrastructure.
•Serves as back-up to coordinate off-site storage of backups for all our main computer systems, so that they are in a ready state in the event of an emergency.
•Support users in extracting reports from the main business system.
•Interact with end users before, during, and after software development to ensure that all systems achieve the correct results.
•Responsible for helping write and document IT procedures.
•Act as a liaison with hardware and software vendor(s) for special projects as assigned.
•Coordinate and implement technologically advanced systems as assigned by the Director of IT.
•Share responsibility for supporting engineering.
•Primary support for the O365 environment. Maintain user security in O365 and IVUE environments.
•Research and coordinate the purchasing of business systems, computers, accessories, and supplies.
•Assist the IT Director with the maintenance, renewal of contracts, and quotes as needed
•Maintain Document Vault system, scheduling and monitoring daily back-ups; initiating repair calls; training and supporting users; coordinate and monitor use of document storage capabilities to insure accurate and thorough filing of mainframe generated reports; serve as liaison with NISC tech services.
•Responsible for all PC risk analysis and endpoint protection.
•Manage and support the phone system.
•Serve as backup for supporting the cooperative iPads.
•Other duties and special projects as required or directed.
Qualifications
EDUCATION: A bachelor’s degree in information technology is preferred. An associate's degree plus five years of experience is required.
EXPERIENCE: Strong technical knowledge of telecommunications, networks, and PC operating systems required. Strong technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, security, and standards. Extensive application support experience. Knowledge of Standard Query Language.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must possess the ability to understand and install appropriate and effective MIS programs. Must have current knowledge of mainframe and PC applications and must be capable of providing support and training. Must be accessible 24 hours per day to assist in outages and emergencies, and work which cannot be performed or scheduled during normal work hours.
