Whitecap Resources is an oil and natural gas producer in Western Canada who sells their natural gas production into diversified markets across North America. Whitecap is the 5th largest producer of natural gas in Western Canada. Whitecap’s Marketing Department is looking for a Marketing Analyst to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will support the Natural Gas Marketing team by providing market supply & demand fundamental analysis, pricing updates & analysis and will assist in the daily natural gas production operations & scheduling.
- Develop and maintain supply/demand fundamentals and analytics for projects and reports
- Assist the day-to-day natural gas scheduling operations on Alliance Pipeline and TC Energy’s NGTL, Foothills, TC Mainline and Gas Transmission Northwest natural gas scheduling systems
- Support the team with analysis on natural gas transportation economics
- Contribute to the review of pipeline and purchaser statements and invoice reconciliation
- Other analytical, reporting and presentation requirements as needed
- Related natural gas marketing experience would be an asset but not a requirement
- Familiarity with pipeline nomination systems, tariffs, and processes on NGTL, TransGas, Alliance, Foothills, GTN and TransCanada Mainline would be an asset
- Flexible schedule and the ability to be on the on-call rotation for balancing and nominations
- Self-starter, motivated to initiate projects and analyze innovative solutions to business challenges
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills to manage internal and external relationships
- A mindset towards streamlining data scraping and reporting with the help of AI
