We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Mission Leader to join our team and drive the development and deployment of advanced power electronics and energy systems. The successful candidate will have a strong background in power electronics and electrical engineering, as well as experience in research and development, team leadership, and collaboration with government agencies, national labs, and industry partners.
- Lead the development and deployment of advanced power electronics and energy systems, including the design, testing, and validation of new technologies
- Collaborate with government agencies, national labs, and industry partners to advance the state-of-the-art in power electronics and electrical engineering
- Manage and mentor teams of engineers and researchers to achieve project goals and objectives
- Develop and manage large budgets to support project activities
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities and partnerships to drive growth and innovation
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in power electronics and electrical engineering, and apply this knowledge to drive innovation and improvement in our products and services
We offer a flexible work environment that allows for remote work arrangements. While travel to our research center headquarters in Niskayuna, NY will be required, we are open to discussing alternative work arrangements that meet the needs of the candidate and the team.
- Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- At least 10 years of experience in power electronics and electrical engineering, including experience in research and development, team leadership, and collaboration with government agencies, national labs, and industry partners
- Strong knowledge of power electronics and electrical engineering, including experience with advanced technologies such as wide bandgap devices and high-power converters
- Experience managing large budgets and leading teams of engineers and researchers
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with government agencies, national labs, and industry partners
- Strong business development and partnership-building skills, with the ability to identify and pursue new business opportunities and partnerships
- Knowledge of industry trends and developments in power electronics and electrical engineering, including experience with emerging technologies such as electric vehicles and renewable energy systems
- Experience with project management tools and techniques, including experience with agile development methodologies
- Experience working with government agencies, national labs, and industry partners to advance the state-of-the-art in power electronics and electrical engineering
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to motivate and direct teams of engineers and researchers to achieve project goals and objectives

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $152,400.00 and $254,000.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
