The primary role of the Warehouse Assistant/Metal Fabricator is to support the fabrication of custom metal roofing components-including trim, panels, and gutters-as well as manage the receiving, processing, and delivery of materials. This individual will also be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and mechanical upkeep of the warehouse and fabrication equipment.
Ø Operate metal forming machinery to produce roofing trim, metal roof panels, gutters and related components to precise specifications.
Ø Read and interpret work orders, fabrication sheets, and drawings to ensure accurate production.
Ø Safely set up and adjust fabrication equipment for different profiles and coil sizes.
Ø Conduct regular maintenance, cleaning, and greasing of fabrication equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
Ø Monitor equipment for wear or malfunction and coordinate repairs or replacements as needed.
Ø Receive, inspect, and process incoming stock and materials, including coils and roofing supplies.
Ø Organize materials in the warehouse to maintain efficiency and accessibility.
Ø Keep the warehouse clean, safe, and compliant with company policies and OSHA standards.
Ø Conduct physical counts of inventory and report discrepancies promptly.
Ø Safeguard warehouse operations by adhering to established security protocols.
Ø Load and deliver construction materials—including fabricated metal products—to job sites safely and on time.
Ø Communicate with the project managers and office staff to coordinate material deliveries.
Ø Work collaboratively with other team members and departments.
Ø Assist with field projects and errands when needed.
Ø Adapt to varying work schedules, including flexible hours as required.
Ø Comply with all federal, state, and local material handling and transportation regulations.
Ø Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing additional duties as assigned
Ø Prior experience operating metal fabrication equipment (brakes, shears, roll former, etc.) preferred.
Ø Ability to read and follow technical fabrication documents and shop drawings.
Ø Effective communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with team members and customers.
Ø Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Ø Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
Ø Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Ø Clean driving record and valid driver’s license.
Ø Ability to pass background, drug, and DOT screening.
Ø Basic computer skills for internal systems and recordkeeping.
