Muncy Muncy is a leader in the heavy lifting industry manufacturing lifting hardware for chain, wire rope and synthetic rope and webbing assemblies. Muncy Machine is seeking a highly motivated and well rounded Mechanical Engineer to join the team; developing solutions for customers and assisting the production team with manufacturing support. Typical Duties / Job responsibilities
•Interface with customers to design and develop solutions in the heavy lifting industry. Determine costing and provide detailed descriptions and lead time through the sales department.
•Prepares solid modeling and drawings for production. Assigning reasonable manufacturing tolerances.
•Provide customer support (Phone and email) of existing products.
•Implement cost reduction by working closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Management team members to reduce scrap/waste and downtime. Evaluate and improve process efficiency.
•Maintain company solid models and drawing. Support, cost estimate, and document all engineering changes.
•Research, design and implement new or improved production processes
Required Education, experience, and Skills:
•Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering
•Experience/knowledge of castings, forging and fabrications
•Solidworks proficiency or certification
•General PC proficiency including MS Office.
•Ability to take initiative on a wide range of project activities and situations. Ability to self-educate to provide engineering judgments.
•Ability to clearly and plainly communicate verbally (oral and written)
•Demonstrated ability to interact with all levels of personnel and to work effectively in a diverse workforce.
Preferred Education, experience, and Skills:
•Familiarity with the heavy lifting industry
•Working knowledge of Lean / Six Sigma methodologies
