The Mechanical Engineer is the technical heartbeat of our product lifecycle, transforming complex structural challenges into robust, manufacturable solutions. You won’t just design hardware; you will serve as the subject matter expert and primary decision-maker for the engineering team, bridging the gap between innovative creativity and disciplined risk management. From mentoring junior talent to overseeing Sustaining Engineering, you will own the technical integrity of our systems while ensuring every design is optimized for quality and scale.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership

- Provide technical leadership to the Engineering Team by demonstrating superior analytical and problem-solving techniques, generating ideas, and anticipating potential problems.

- Lead Sustaining Engineering activities, develop verification strategies, and conduct effective design reviews.

- Become the subject matter expert and the authority in design robustness and applications.

- Lead in identifying and resolving technical challenges.

- Encourage creativity and out-of-the-box thinking within the team.

- Cultivate a team environment conducive to open discussion and free flow of ideas.

- Encourage collaboration and mutual respect among team members.

- Serve as the primary decision-maker in all technical aspects, ensuring alignment with project goals.

- Mentor team members, promoting structured approaches to problem-solving, logical thinking, and risk management.

Technical

- Apply foundational knowledge in mechanical and structural engineering to design hardware components and systems.

- Apply detailed calculations and use simulation software.

- Utilize expert knowledge and team collaboration to troubleshoot and find solutions effectively.

- Continuously scan for potential issues in project progression.

- Implement strategies to mitigate risks before they escalate.

- Leverage personal expertise and team insights to guide decisions.

- Conduct comprehensive design reviews.

- Ensure all design aspects meet the specified requirements through meticulous verification processes.

- Emphasize design for quality and manufacturability in all projects.

- Ensure designs are efficient, cost-effective, and meet high-quality standards.

- Provide insights and data to support effective project planning.

Process Development & Knowledge Management

- Standardize and continuously improve documentation and change management processes.

- Oversee the creation and maintenance of knowledge libraries and document management systems.

- Lead or assist in developing key processes and standards such as Engineering Change Management part numbering systems.

Communication – internal and external stakeholders

- Support in communicating these changes and associated risks to stakeholders.

- Assist the Program Manager in creating realistic schedules, budgets, and risk assessments.

- Provide technical support to Sales and Customer Service. First stop in escalation path.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00-$105,000.00 per year
