To oversee the design of Liquids Pump Station facilities for expansion and maintenance capital projects executed by third‑party engineering firms. Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with company standards, specifications, and applicable industry codes while managing adherence to project budgets and schedules. This role also serves as a liaison between Project Execution, Operations, and Shared Services to ensure project and organizational requirements are fully captured and incorporated into design deliverables.
- Manages third‑party engineering consultants to ensure all design deliverables meet quality standards and comply with budget and schedule requirements.
- Ensures all pump station facilities are designed in accordance with regulations, applicable industry codes, and corporate standards.
- Defines scope, schedule, and budget for pump station facility design and materials.
- Reviews and approves design deliverables, including drawings, technical reports, and material listing sheets.
- Participates in design review meetings with engineering firms, Project Managers, Operations, and Construction teams to discuss scope, design intent, performance expectations, and constructability considerations.
- Reviews vendor material quotations, conducts technical evaluations, and recommends selections based on technical merit, price, and delivery timelines (e.g., pumps, motors, vessels, buildings, generators, pipes, valves, and fittings).
- Reviews lessons learned from previous projects and integrates relevant recommendations into new designs.
- Identifies and communicates new lessons learned and quality incidents for assigned projects.
- Supports departmental initiatives as required.
- Project Manager – Weekly interaction for updates on progress, cost, schedule, and risk.
- Supervisor, Facilities Project Engineering – Daily interaction to address project issues or challenges.
- Manager, Facilities Project Engineering – Weekly interaction for project status updates.
- External Engineering Firm – Daily interaction to oversee project design activities.
- Operations – Weekly interaction to communicate project status and confirm required design considerations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, or a related engineering field.
- Minimum of four (4) years of industry experience.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and effectively prioritize tasks.
- Strong problem‑solving skills using existing standards, modified standards, or prior experience.
- Ability to clearly communicate technical issues and impacts to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- 80% office‑based work with multiple project teams.
- 20% fieldwork for project scoping or supporting procurement, construction, and commissioning activities.
- Work involves time‑sensitive deliverables.
- Requires strong computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office applications.Please note: Successful applicants will be employees of Raise, working at Enbridge facilities with both Enbridge and contract employees.
